Craft Fair Portal Brief

The Tasmanian Craft Fair has more than 200 exhibiting artists and artisans and 20,000 visitors. The event takes places annually in Deloraine located midway between Launceston and Devonport. The organisers of the Tasmanian Craft Fair are keen to raise the profile of the event and have invited Current Master Degree Students at University of Tasmania, School of Architecture and Design to be responsible for a Portal Design as an entrance for the Craft Fair this year.

The board of Tasmanian Craft Fair has provided an open brief for the University Design Team. It is meant for the responsive design team (Utas Students) to develop their imagination in order to create a physical experiential journey on entering through the Gateway, which is the Portal. The portal will serve to enclosing the entrant with a distinct memorable encounter. The entry and exit experience may be different, all subject to the design team's speculation and inspirations.
